October surprise

No, not what I thought it would be either.

Like a drunk buddy who can’t hold on and pisses himself (and your car seat) as you’re pulling into his driveway, Bush couldn’t hold the economy together long enough for John McCain to slip into office amidst a phony prosperity surge.

Btw, that was 7.87% of the market’s value that was lost today. I really feel for George W. Bush. He tried so hard and came up short. Short of not becoming the nation’s most unpopular president ever, that is. All the villagers in the Beltway feel bad for our BMX bike President.

The Supreme Court also feels bad for him, and they decided to perk him up by letting Georgia execute an obviously innocent man. Should Gov. Perdue go ahead with Troy Davis’s execution, I will forevermore stand in adamant opposition to any organization that holds any conventions or meetings in Georgia. If Davis dies, Georgia should die (economically speaking).

Davis is not a bloody cherry with which to top the shit sundae that is Bush’s two terms of failure. Enough is e-fucking-nuff, and if Georgia murders Davis, the entire state should be subject to massive boycotts. No convention business, no online purchases from Georgia-based companies, no tourism dollars, nothing. Nothing, nothing, nothing. No earmarks from Congress.

I can think of no reason why we need to keep any military bases open in Georgia, and surely there must be better places to locate the Centers for Disease Control.

I am serious. If Troy Davis dies, let’s kill Georgia. I don’t have the clout to get this thing rolling, but how long do you think Sonny Perdue would remain governor if Coca-Cola was hit with an international boycott?

Let’s do it. Let’s boycott Coca-Cola. If you drink that sugar water crap, you’re better off without it. This is also an excuse to get your kids to stop drinking that piss water.

There’s no doubt in my mind whatsoever that if Coca-Cola took a beating, Georgia would wear the bruises.

Our money may not be worth much nowadays, but I’m betting Coke would miss our dollars. We certainly can’t expect the media to help us. I’ve been listening to NPR closely but they haven’t mentioned Troy Davis this week, despite finding time to be amused by Chief Justice Roberts hard-boiled ruling.

No news story that involves Bush seems to have anything resembling news in it anymore. Bush’s “inappropriate use of power”? Yawn. Lehman Bros. shoveled out more bonuses just before doing bankruptcy? This is news? Bush is trying to kill Mother Nature? Shit, we’ve had eight years to figure that one out. Bush has had journalists killed? No shit.

Via Vick, all the incentive you’d ever need to vote for Obama is right here.

Still not convinced? Here are some McCainiacs you might not want to be associated with:

The Sacramento County GOP

Mark Ciptak

anonymous cowards hiding in crowds

Sarah Barracuda

Zombie Lee Atwater

Hayden Panettiere (note: this may be a joke video — you decide)

How retarded is McCain’s hard on for earmarks?

You’d think St. Olaf would want to keep the long-running “Save WCAL” dispute out of the headlines, but they get petty and deny the group’s board members seats for the school’s Christmas concert, the Strib’s Sarah Lemagie reports. Yes, WCAL has waged an indefatigable and quixotic battle to “save” a classical radio station that’s never coming back, but one board member nails it when she says the group shouldn’t be penalized for strongly held beliefs. Christmas — peace on earth, remember?

David Brauer

WCAL was entrusted with a portion of our airwaves, but chose to sell their venerable station to the MPR Borg. Words really can’t express how unseemly this is. You have to wonder what that money’s been used for, and whether it’s really in St. Olaf’s best interest not to have a radio station.

RNC cont.

Charlie Underwood says no one’s been charged with some of the more prominently reported on property crimes that happened during the RNC. Given that that police car was trashed in full view of cameras and countless police officers, it would seem to make sense that the damage was done, as has been alleged, by police infiltrators.

Thank god. Obama’s people realized that their Raymond Avenue office was too small and they’ve opened up a bigger GOTV center on University Avenue

15,000 volunteers in Minnesota alone.

Incredible.
