People get ready

This will be one for the ages. Listen or watch this one live if at all possible.

UPDATE: Jeez Louise, now they’re saying 50,000 people are downtown for this one.

This is all happening about five miles away from me, and I am grateful for each and every inch of those five miles. Not that I’m becoming agoraphobic, but I have a massive fear of large, happy crowds brimming with optimism and looking forward to the future. I’m scared shitless I’ll spontaneously combust and in so doing, become an unfortunate footnote in countless future history books.

Anyhow, they’re getting a little more excited on the radio right now, so figure out how you’re tuning this one in.

Update: Hillary’s speaking. I don’t think I’ve ever listened to a crowd more out of sync with their candidate, and vice versa.

Now and forever more she will dwell in the part of my brain where I keep my memories of our 37th president.

That fairly reeked of Checkers. In a past life I wrote copy for a Nigerian hustler scamming women with over-priced diaries. This speech had that quality to it. I’ll be curious to see the grassroots reaction to it. I’m past caring what the pundits think about anything.

Tonight some MPR guys cracked wise about what a long campaign season this has been already. ?? Maybe it seems that way since this is the year the intertubes have schooled the old skool folks time and again.

St. Paul police say that the Xcel Center is full, and they’re trying to disperse the 10-15,000 people outside. Disperse? This is history.

While we’re waiting on Obama, here’s a video from Gene in D.M. that’s sure to offend the cyclists among us.
